Screen printing on shadenet — engineered to outlast the job

Printed shadenet is 80% HDPE shade netting — also called shade cloth, shade netting or printed mesh — with a logo or branding screen-printed onto it. It's hung on construction site fences, event perimeters and around property developments, so the barrier that was already going up does a second job as advertising.

Vector artwork is best — AI, EPS, PDF or SVG — because it scales to fence size without going soft. A high-resolution image works too. If you're not sure what you have, send it anyway and we'll tell you. Our team checks and, where needed, redraws artwork so it screen-prints crisply.

5+ years in full sun. We developed our own UV-stabilised, water-based ink specifically for HDPE shadenet — it bonds with the material rather than sitting on top, so it doesn't fade and crack the way generic printed mesh does.

Standard rolls are 50m × 1.8m of 80% HDPE shadenet, with sewn-in eyelets every metre along the top and bottom. Custom sizes are available on request.

It's a quick job with two people and a bag of cable ties. Run the roll along the outside of the fence — Heras panels, palisade, Clearvu or timber hoarding all work — and thread a cable tie through each sewn-in eyelet, top and bottom, roughly every metre. Pull the net taut as you go so it sits flat with no sag, then trim the tie tails. Overlap the ends of adjoining rolls by a few centimetres for a continuous run. Because the eyelets are already sewn in every metre, you don't need grommets, tools or a specialist crew.

Yes, when it's tensioned and tied at both the top and bottom edges. Shadenet is 80% mesh, so it lets some wind through rather than acting as a solid sail — but it still needs to be pulled tight and fixed along both edges every metre through the eyelets. On exposed or high sites, add ties at closer spacing and make sure the fence itself is properly braced. Leaving the bottom edge loose is the usual reason a print flaps or tears, so tie it down.
