The problem we solved
We got tired of watching prints fade
When we started out in 2007, printed mesh on construction sites had a dirty secret: it looked great on day one and faded, cracked and peeled within months. Standard inks simply don't grip HDPE shadecloth — they sit on the surface, and the South African sun burns them off.
So we stopped using standard inks. We developed our own UV-stabilised, water-based ink, formulated specifically to bond with HDPE shadecloth at the material level. The result: prints that stay sharp and legible for 5+ years in full sun.
Nearly twenty years and thousands of prints later, that ink — and the obsession behind it — is still what sets us apart. Shadenet is not a sideline we bolt onto other printing; it's the only thing we do, and it's why contractors come to us and stay.
